How to Buy Pirate Chain (ARRR) and Where to Buy

Pirate Chain is a cryptocurrency that is classed as a privacy coin. It has some great privacy features that rival most other privacy coins. Pirate Chain is listed as one of the best privacy coins.

Best Trading Platforms to Buy Pirate Chain

We do not usually recommend the platforms listed below for one reason or another. However, there are not that many platforms that support Pirate Chain. There is a mix of centralised and decentralised trading platforms for you to choose from.

The decentralised platforms do not handle fiat (government-issued currencies), only crypto. Additionally, they may not have KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) processes. So the sign-up process takes up less time.

1. KuCoin

KuCoin

One of the best crypto exchanges. It supports 600+ cryptocurrencies and offers some of the lowest fees in the industry.

KuCoin has no KYC requirements for withdrawals of up to 2 BTC per day. If you choose to verify your personal accounts it will increase your withdrawal limit to 100 BTC. KuCoin is a centralised exchange that does not support fiat. However, KuCoin is looking to support fiat currencies in future. It has high liquidity and 24/7 customer support.

2. FMFW.io

FMFW is a full KYC platform. You have limits of $25,000 daily and up to $100,000 monthly on this platform. FMFW does not support US residents due to the strict regulatory environment in the US.

You can use bank transfers or credit cards to purchase Pirate Chain or any other crypto. Moreover, they have 24/7 customer support.

3. Gate.io

Gate.io is a popular trading platform, but not one of the best around. Hence why we tend to recommend other exchanges or trading platforms over Gate.io. This is mostly because other platforms tend to provide a much better experience.

Gate.io has several issues which we outlined in this Gate.io Review. However, since you cannot buy Pirate Chain from many places Gate.io is definitely an option. You will need to go through the full KYC process on this platform.

4. TradeOgre

This is a decentralised exchange that is unregulated. So you do not need to do KYC paperwork. They are a small platform focusing on Bitcoin and privacy coins. I have personally used this exchange for small amounts and have found it pretty good.

TradeOgre does not have standard methods to get in touch with them for support. For example, live chat or email. As a result, if you get stuck you will need to get in touch with them via Twitter or Facebook.

How to Buy Pirate Chain

Unfortunately, there are no simple exchanges where you can buy Pirate Chain. Exchanges have simplified interfaces that make them easier to understand. However, there are a few trading platforms at this point in time offering Pirate Chain.

As a result, you will need to sign up with one of the trading platforms listed above. If you do not know how to use these more complex trading platforms, below is an example using TradeOgre. TradeOgre is one of the simpler trading platforms.

As I mentioned previously, TradeOgre only handles crypto and not fiat currency. As a result, you will need to buy Bitcoin from another exchange and transfer it onto TradeOgre.

CoinStove has a guide on how to buy Bitcoin from an exchange. This is the process you will need to use to buy Bitcoin first. You can access it here: how to buy cryptocurrency.

On the other hand, other trading platforms such as KuCoin do not require you to buy Bitcoin from another exchange first. Instead, you can do everything on one trading platform.

However, the guide below for TradeOgre is relevant for most trading platforms as the process of exchanging Bitcoin for Pirate Chain is similar on other platforms.

Buy Pirate Chain From TradeOgre

Here is a step-by-step process on how to buy Pirate Chain from TradeOgre. Let us go through the whole process. You will learn how to set up an account and buy Pirate Chain.

You can watch the video below or read through the process.

You probably want to use all the Bitcoin you have to buy Pirate Chain. In that case, you should click the value in purple next to ‘Available BTC:’ in the maker box.

On the other hand, if you want to input another amount you can do so too. To do this you will need to put the value of Bitcoin you want to use in the BTC box field. TradeOgre will automatically calculate the amount of Pirate Chain you can buy based on the current exchange rate.

How to Store Pirate Chain

Unless you keep your Pirate Chain on the exchange because you will be trading, we recommend that you take it off the exchange. The primary reason is so that it will not get stolen. There are plenty of examples of exchanges and trading platforms that have had crypto stolen. This is happening on a regular basis on different platforms.

Unfortunately, Pirate Chain is still not currently supported by hardware wallets. Usually, we recommend hardware wallets because they are the best practice when it comes to security. They allow you to place your cryptocurrency into cold storage so it cannot be stolen by hackers.

As a result, after some people buy Pirate Chain they might keep it on the exchange. This is definitely not the best practice, even if it is the easiest option. There are a number of wallet options you can consider using to store your Pirate Chain.

Pirate Chain Wallets

1. Full Node Wallet

If you buy Pirate Chain in large amounts then this type of wallet could be an option for you. It is a maximum security wallet for added protection.

2. Lite Wallet

Lite wallets are a way of interacting with the blockchain without the need of downloading the whole blockchain. They have the added benefit of being less cumbersome so they take up less storage space. Lite wallets also are able to sync much faster with the blockchain.

3. Mobile Wallet

Mobile wallets are only supported on Android phones for the time being. These wallets are for those that would like a wallet that they can access quickly and easily.

4. Paper Wallet

This is the old-school method which every so often is nice to see. It is another method of offline cold storage which you can use instead of hardware wallets. The similarities between the two methods stop there though.

Paper wallets are not user-friendly like hardware wallets. In fact, if you are not familiar with them we recommend you don’t use them. Or if you do, make sure you test if you set it up correctly. Use a small amount of Pirate Chain before you place the rest of your funds into your wallet. The nice thing about paper wallets is that they do provide maximum security.

How to Set Up a Pirate Chain Paper Wallet

You will need to make sure you always have access to your Pirate Chain whenever you need to in future. This is especially the case if you intend to use a paper wallet for several years. Sometimes the ink you use whether pen, pencil or printer ink may fade over time.

Some letters or numbers may not be as clear. For numbers, there is not really a solution, but there is a solution for your recovery seed.

So after you buy Pirate Chain you may want to consider buying a cryptosteel cassette from the Trezor shop. The cryptosteel cassette is expensive but it could pay for itself if Pirate Chain goes up in price.

Cryptosteel Cassette

This cassette is pocket-sized, stainless steel (106 x 60 x 60 mm), lightweight (45 grams) and durable. It comes with 800 stainless steel tiles with Latin letters from A-Z all in caps that are engraved on both sides. You can put the tiles together to store the data you need for your paper wallet.

Alternatively, you can also opt for the Cryptotag Zeus which is much more durable and fancy. The case is made of bulletproof titanium (113 x 68 x 6 mm). It can withstand over 1000+ degrees Celsius – no it is not a typo. It translates to 1832 degrees Fahrenheit temperature. Additionally, the case is also waterproof.

It is impressive what lengths crypto enthusiasts will go to to protect their precious seeds 🙂

Alternative Privacy Coins?

If you would like to buy other privacy coins there are alternatives such as Monero, Dero and Equilibria. Monero is no longer the best privacy coin. The baton of the best privacy blockchain, coin, or token has been passed onto Dero, Pirate Chain and Equilibria. However, you can check out what is Monero here.
